Innovations in Pain Medicine

About TheraQuest

Corporate Strategy

Despite advances in drug therapy, TheraQuest believes pain management remains a critical area of unmet medical need. Increasingly, patients, advocacy groups, pain societies, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations and the media are highlighting the limitations of pain management and are demanding changes in the medical system.

TheraQuest’s business strategy is to use its considerable pain treatment knowledge and development expertise to identify, develop and commercialize product candidates with strong market potential that have significantly lower development costs and clinical, regulatory and commercial risk profiles than new chemical entities.

TheraQuest’s core strength is its pain drug development expertise. Our team possesses considerable experience and knowledge in the design and conduct of clinical trials in analgesia and rheumatology, including acute post-surgical pain, cancer pain, neuropathic pain, low back pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, breakthrough pain, migraine, tension headache and dysmenorrhea. The TheraQuest team has contributed to the development of numerous analgesics approved in the United States in the past 20 years.

A key to TheraQuest’s success is our ability to identify new product opportunities. We have extensive knowledge of the pain products market and compounds to treat various pain indications. We anticipate that we will continue to grow our pipeline by identifying compounds such as those:

  • Approved in non-U.S. geographies for which we pursue FDA approval
  • Novel formulations and/or modes of delivery for off-patent drugs
  • New indications for drugs approved for other therapeutic uses
  • Synergistic drugs that enhance the effects of available drugs, allowing the use of less active to achieve the desired result and thereby improving the product’s side-effect profile
  • Combination therapies of available therapeutics
  • In-licensing of late-stage or approved drugs
