TheraQuest Overview

TheraQuest is a clinical stage pain management company with a diversified portfolio of products for the treatment of chronic pain.

The market for drugs to treat pain is large and growing rapidly. In 2009, the market totaled $20 billion in the U.S. and $34 billion worldwide. The worldwide market is expected to grow to $41 billion by 2012. As a class, analgesics and anti-arthritics were the most widely prescribed medications in the U.S. in 2009, with a combined total of over 278 million prescriptions (Source IMS Health). Total U.S. sales for opioid analgesics were $8.5 billion in 2009.

Despite advances in drug therapy, we believe chronic pain management remains a critical area of unmet medical need. Our goal is to become a leader in chronic pain management pharmaceuticals by using our considerable drug development expertise to identify, develop and commercialize products with strong market potential.

TheraQuest was founded by Najib Babul, PharmD and is headquartered in Blue Bell, PA. It combines internationally recognized scientific expertise of its research team with a world-class scientific advisory board.
